Demons thus generated, began hurting garuda who attacked them in such a way that they could not withstand him. The soil particles drenched by the blood drops falling onto the ground from his body produced an equal number of demons as strong and vigorous as Raktavilochana. As a result of this, there was bloodshed. Lord Narasimha attacked and smashed them with his only weapon ‘Sudarsana’, the chakra, that wounded the sensitive parts of the demon’s body. He shot all types of weapons at the Lord. Raktavilochana heard the thundering noise of the Panchajanya and like a cyclone enveloped the Lord and engulfed him in fighting with him. Vasishta after singing his glory appealed about the arrogance of the demon and his cruelty in killing his sons.Lord Narasimha invited the Rakthavilochana for the war. To save his devotees, Lord Narasimha along with the Goddess Lakshmi charioted on Garuda Vahana and appeared before Vasishta. He returned to his ashram and prayed for Lord Narasimha’s grace. The sage by his divine vision could come to know of what all happened at this hermitage. Arundhati, Vasishta’s wife, wept a lot for the death of her son and prayed to Vasishta who was then at Brahmaloka. Once sage Viswamitra found an opportunity to take the revenge against the sage Vasishta and asked Rakthavilochana to kill the sons of the Vasishta. Raktavilochana asked Lord Shiv that the number of sand particles drenched by the blood drops falling from his body onto the ground at war would produce an equal number of Rakshasas as strong and vigorous as himself after and they would assist him at was and become one with him after Killing all the enemies.Īfter getting this boon, he started to harass the Gods and saints.
